Mission
The Master of Science, Health Psychology program supports Daemen University’s mission to prepare students for life and leadership in a complex multicultural world, and the mission of the Psychological Sciences Department to provide students with an understanding of the psychological science of human thought, feeling, and behavior. The curriculum is designed to increase students’ knowledge of foundational and contemporary topics in psychological science and the methods and tools used to conduct psychological research, including research design and data analysis. Students will also learn to communicate effectively with other members of the scientific community and acquire the skills to apply psychological principles in diverse domains that characterize well-educated and ethical learners. This will be accomplished through a combination of student-centered advising and mentoring, participation in a large variety of required and elective courses, collaborative student-faculty research opportunities, and community outreach opportunities in the form of career field experiences and internships.
