The requirement may be satisfied through the completion of college level coursework or the successful completion of a proficiency examination. (3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Admission to Upper Division Requirements<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Completion of: BIO103; MTH104; PSY103; SOC201; SOC224; SOC303; SW\/SOC218; 3 credits in an Economics course AND 3 credits in a\u00a0Political Science course.<\/li>\n<li>A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 at the end of the sophomore year, and C or better in all Social Work courses.<\/li>\n<li>Submission of evidence of 120 hours of volunteer experience in a social work or human service program.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of the upper division application including a personal statement.<\/li>\n<li>Submission of two letters of recommendation.<\/li>\n<li>Satisfactory completion of interview with the Social Work Admissions Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Students should consult the Bachelor of Arts in Social Work Student Handbook, available from the Social Work Department, for\u00a0complete application, entry, and upper division continuance requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Transfer students must submit an application for upper division at the time of acceptance to the college and prior to registration for classes.<\/p>\n<h2>Admission to Field Experience (SW451\/451S-452\/452S)<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Upper division status and minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.50.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum grade of C in all Social Work courses<\/li>\n<li>Completion of Field Experience application<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of recommendation from volunteer experiences<\/li>\n<li>Submit evidence of the completion of six credits in Social Work\/Sociology electives<\/li>\n<li>Satisfactorily complete an interview with the Field Coordinator<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Continuance in Field Experience<\/h2>\n<p>Maintenance of a 2.50 cumulative GPA; a grade of P (Pass) in SW451; a minimum grade of C in all Social Work courses including SW451S; adherence to the NASW Code of Ethics.
